7 Best Night Views in Kuala Lumpur

-

There is something enchanting about the city at night…

Nothing beats watching the panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline turning from a red and orangey facade into the beautiful twilight of the night. Well, nothing except for having good food, good music, and especially a good spot to take in the bright lights of KL city.

To that end, KL’s myriad of dining options (with a view) will provide you with the best spots to admire the magnificent skyline of the city at nightfall. From fancy restaurants to rooftop bars to casual dining, here are the seven best night views in KL.

1. Fuego at Troika Sky Dining

Treat yourself to a great selection of authentic South American dishes while you take in the breathtaking night view of KL at this open-aired terrace restaurant.

Fuego at Troika Sky Dining features a thoughtfully laid out dining menu which includes grilled meat and tapas. Their tapas, in particular, is a must-try as they adopt a modern take on the classic South American dish. The food served here is also impactful flavour-wise — a stark contrast to the restaurant’s minimalist interior.

But, the best part of this restaurant is definitely the view of the KL’s fiery sunset — accompanied by Fuego’s delicious food makes for a great experience. Make sure to make reservations in advance if you are planning to visit as the hours during the sunset is the most packed.

Level 23A, Tower B The Troika, 19, Persiaran KLCC, Kuala Lumpur, 50450 Kuala Lumpur

Opening Hours

Dinner services start from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm for the first seating. The second seating starts from 8.30 pm onwards. Last orders are taken at 10.30 pm.

2. Marini’s on 57

If you’ve been to KL city, chances are, you would’ve seen the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. After all, the pair of skyscrapers is an attraction not to be missed. But what if we told you there’s a way to up the experience?

Adjacent to the famous twin towers is Petronas Tower 3, wherein you’ll find a restaurant and rooftop bar called Marini’s on 57. Here, you’ll have unfiltered access to the view of the spectacular architecture, along with some great Italian cuisine.f

Imagine the experience of getting to wine and dine on fine Italian food at Marini’s outdoor area — the twins providing magnificent scenery, and especially when they’re lit up at dusk. Add to that the interior of the restaurant that also has a floor-to-ceiling glass window view of the towers and you’ve got an excellent evening ahead.

And if that weren’t enough of an experience for you, step back into the premises and enjoy what their lush rooftop bar has to offer — fine whisky and rare scotch bottles being the opportune word.

Marini’s on 57

Opening Hours

Restaurant opening hours are from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm daily.

Rooftop bar opening hours are from 5.00 pm to 1.30 am from Sundays to Thursdays and 5.00 pm to 3.00 am from Fridays to Saturdays.

3. Marble 8

The next spot on our list is for the steak lovers out there.

Located just one level below Marini’s, Marble 8 is one of the best steakhouses you can visit in KL. What sets this restaurant apart from joints of similar ilk is the view you get as you dine on your high-quality steak.

Similar to the aforementioned Marini’s on 57, there is a spot next to the floor-to-ceiling window in the restaurant that allows you to fully admire the night view of the twin towers. Reservations are, of course, mandatory to secure this highly sought after spot.

Apart from the view, you’ll get a classy (albeit expensive) affair when you dine at this locale. Marble 8 is quite frankly the best in town when it comes to steaks and you’ll definitely get your money’s worth here. If you’re looking to splurge, you could try out their luxurious cuts of prime dry-aged Australian Wagyu beef. Otherwise, the restaurant offers other less “pricey” options like Angus beef.

4. Atmosphere 360

Found in another iconic building in the heart of KL, the KL tower is home to Atmosphere 360 — a restaurant with the distinction of having the highest view (282 m above ground, to be exact) of the city in KL.

And if that wasn’t reason enough, you will also get the full 360-degree view of the city regardless of where you sit, as long as it’s next to a window. Atmosphere 360 gradually rotates (hence the name) as you dine, providing you with the full scenic view of KL.

And while the view during the day is beautiful, the night view is where it’s at. With the city of KL awakening to its full glory at night, this is a dining experience you wouldn’t want to miss.

As for the food, Atmosphere 360 offers an excellent lunch and dinner buffet spread. The restaurant’s offerings range from Western selections to local treats, with the menu being updated on a weekly basis.

5. Dinner In The Sky Malaysia

More of a gravity-defying experience rather than a culinary one, Dinner In The Sky Malaysia offers the best of both worlds — the sights and meal experience wrapped in a neat little box. That is, if the box is a platform and said platform is suspended 50 m off the ground as you are having your meal. Talk about taking your dinner to new heights!

But still, allow us to simplify the Dinner In The Sky experience. You get a fine dining experience with a truly unobstructed 360-degree view of the KL skyline while you feast on a luxurious three-course meal. Plus, you also get a first-hand look at the chefs at work as they steadily and professionally prepare your meal. Each plate expertly curated to perfection without breaking a sweat, and without considering that they are also suspended high above the ground!

Oh, and acrophobic diners need not worry, as you’ll be strapped in your chair for safety. Just focus on enjoying the evening scenery and your meal, and you’ll be fine (hopefully).
