Singaporeans dreaming of a tropical beach getaway just got a new reason to pack their bags! Vietjet, Vietnam’s leading low-cost airline, is launching direct flights from Singapore to Phu Quoc—Vietnam’s stunning island paradise—starting May 30, 2025. With four weekly flights, this new route promises to make weekend escapes and beach holidays more convenient than ever.
A New Route to Paradise Unveiled
Announced on March 11, 2025, during an official visit by Vietnam’s General Secretary To Lam to Singapore, the route strengthens ties between the two nations. Operating out of Changi Airport, Vietjet will now offer 78 weekly flights between Singapore and Vietnam, adding Phu Quoc to its existing connections with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang. Since 2014, the airline has flown over 2.6 million passengers between the two countries, and this new link is expected to boost that number by over 500,000 annually.
Phu Quoc, often dubbed Vietnam’s “Pearl Island,” is a tropical haven with powdery beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant night markets—perfect for families, couples, or solo travellers. The new route comes at a perfect time as Singaporeans look for fresh, fuss-free travel options close to home.
Vietjet’s move builds on its reputation as a game-changer in the budget travel scene. The airline has been a favourite for cost-conscious flyers since its launch in 2011, and this expansion strengthens ties between Singapore and Vietnam, two nations already connected by strong tourism and trade links.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Vietjet’s Chairwoman, highlighted the airline’s broader mission: “Vietjet is more than an airline—it drives economic trade, investment, and cultural exchange.” With Singapore as Vietnam’s top investor (US$84.5 billion), this route adds to a partnership that’s already worth billions annually.
Flight schedules and fares are still under wraps, but with Vietjet’s track record of cost-saving options, expect wallet-friendly tickets when bookings open.
