Reaching Sapa, Vietnam from Singapore: A Quick and Easy Guide

Travelling to Vietnam from Singapore is just a short flight away (approx 3.5hours) and Singapore Passport Holders do not require a visa to enter Vietnam and can remain up to 30 days per entry.

Located in a remote region of northwest Vietnam, Sapa doesn’t have its own airport. To get there, you’ll need to fly into Hanoi first and then continue your journey to Sapa by train, bus, or private transfer.

These are the airlines offering direct flights to Hanoi: Singapore Airlines, Vietjet Air, Vietnam Airlines, and Scoot.

Once you’ve landed in Hanoi, you have a few options to continue your journey to Sapa. Depending on your arrival time, here are 3 recommended mode of transport:

1. Train

The overnight train is a popular and scenic choice. It departs Hanoi in the evening and arrives in Lao Cai (the closest train station to Sapa) early the next morning. From there, it’s a short bus or taxi ride to Sapa town. The entire journey takes about 8 to 9 hours.
