Thailand is a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture and delicious cuisine. But from June 2023 onwards, visitors to the country will have to pay an additional fee of 300 baht (approximately SGD$12) when they arrive by air while those arriving by land or boat will pay 150 baht (approximately SGD$6).
The new fee is part of Thailand’s plan to develop attractions and improve infrastructure in the country. It will be charged to foreign tourists arriving by air, but those with work permits or border passes will be exempt from paying it. The fee was originally planned to take effect in April 2022, but has since been postponed until June 2023.
The money collected from the tourist fee will help fund projects such as building new roads, developing public transport systems and improving existing tourist attractions. This could help make Thailand an even more attractive destination for travelers looking for a unique experience.
With the extra funds generated from this initiative, Thailand could become an even more attractive destination for tourists looking for an unforgettable experience!
