This coming 9 August marks Singapore’s 58th birthday, and what better way to celebrate than with a dazzling display of fireworks as well as aerial fly-past by the RSAF? This year, the NDP @ Heartlands will be featuring fireworks at five different locations.
Prior to fireworks display, heartlands will get an aerial treat, with helicopters and fighter jets taking to the sky.
Two CH47-SD Chinook helicopters, each escorted by two AH-64D Apache helicopters, will execute the “Fly Our Flag” segment, flying the state flag across Singapore. The helicopters will fly on two routes between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.: a Western route that passes through Woodlands, Choa Chu Kang, and Jurong; and an Eastern route that passes via Toa Payoh, Bishan, Pasir Ris, Tampines and Changi.
Additionally, an A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport will do the RSAF55 Island Flypast from 5.40 to 6.10 p.m. over Jurong West, Woodlands, Toa Payoh, Tampines and Bedok. It will be accompanied by six F-16D+ and three F-15SG fighter aircraft.

Fireworks will go off at the five heartland sites above at the same time as the firework medley at Padang on National Day. The firework display is expected to take place between 8.15pm and 8.25pm.
As you watch the vibrant display of colours in the sky, take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished as a nation over the past 58 years. Here’s to many more years of progress and happiness!
