How to Get to Genting Highlands from Singapore

If you’re looking for a short getaway, look no further. Located just 45 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands is the go-to destination for many Singaporeans. From theme parks to casinos, Genting Highlands boasts many attractions suitable for any ages.  

Read on to find out the different ways you can get to Genting Highlands from Singapore.

By Coach

An inexpensive and convenient way to get to Genting would be by coach, making it a popular choice amongst Singaporeans. The journey takes approximately 5 hours, depending on the traffic conditions.

By Car

Another way to get to Genting Highlands is by car. The 417km drive takes about 4 – 5 hours, depending on the traffic conditions. The time estimate excludes bathroom, meals and gas breaks on the way there.

By Plane

Flights to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) International Airport takes an approximate of 1 hour 10 minutes. Economy tickets averages around S$85 for budget airlines like Scoot and Air Asia. Singapore Airlines also offers Economy tickets from S$245.

After landing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA/KLIA2), there are multiple options to get to Genting Highlands.

Airport Taxi

Airport Taxi operates through a coupon system that can be purchased at the respective counters. Prices starts from RM32.20 and are fixed based on the destination and vehicle type. You can purchase the coupons at:

  • Domestic Arrival, Level 3, Main Terminal Building
  • International Baggage Reclaim, Level 3, Main Terminal Building
Metered Taxi

You can also choose to take a metered taxi at KLIA. Charges are according to distance/time inclusive of a flag fall charge for the first 1km or 3 minutes of between RM3 to RM6 depending on the taxi type. Any subsequent charges vary based on distance or time travelled. Metered taxis can be found at Level 1 of the Main Terminal Building.

Express Bus and Cable Car

You can also find affordable express bus rides (Aerobus) from KLIA/KLIA2 to Awana Bus Terminal. The bus journey takes approximately 2 hours 15 mins. Tickets for Aerobus typically costs RM35.

Once you reach Awana Bus Terminal, you can head to Awana Skyway located nearby to catch a cable car to the top. A one-way ticket costs RM10 for Standard Gondolas and RM21 for Glass Gondolas. With the same ticket, you can stop at Chin Swee Station to go sightseeing, at no extra costs.
