Need something to do to spice up your evening? The Singapore Night Festival (sgnightfest) — Singapore’s largest nocturnal experience — returns to Bras Basah.Bugis precinct for its 15th edition this year.
Happening for three weekends for the first time from 23 August to 7 September 2024, this year’s festival is themed the Art of Play. This exploration of the concept of play and childhood is inspired by the historical significance of Bugis as the birthplace of some of Singapore’s first schools such as the Singapore Institution Free School in 1837, located along the seafront Bras Basah Road (where Raffles City today stands) also known today as Raffles Institution.
What’s more sentimental than walking down memory lane to discover and relive some of these unique stories and traditions of Bugis through the festival’s signature projection mapping artworks, night light installations by local and regional artists.

Apart from these exciting programmes, patrons can look forward to old school games stalls, nostalgia-themed food and beverages and retail experiences across numerous Festival Villages and bask in the lively atmosphere of live music performances including jazz and take part in Singaporean’s unique mandopop genre, xinyao singalong which is the festival first!
Be dazzled by ‘Wonder World’
Travel back in time with this year’s Highlight Act titled, Wonder World, and bask in the old-school and retro vibes of Singapore from the 1950s to 1970s. Conceptualised by local artist SKL0, this seemingly whimsical amusement park experience ponders on and touches upon our modern idea of nostalgia and heritage.
