Tony-award winning Broadway Musical Hamilton is set to debut it’s opening night show in Singapore this month on 19th April 2024. Hosted at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands, the venue is home to many other Broadway musicals before. Hamilton is currently touring around Asia, with recent stops in Manila and Abu Dhabi in the past year. Tickets for it’s Singapore dates have sold with great demand that the musical will be extending its Singapore Season for an additional 2 weeks with it’s last show on 9th June 2024.
Hamilton, the musical is written by the talented actor and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, illustrating the life of American founding father, Alexander Hamilton and his influence upon the American Revolution till his death in the early 1800’s. Most iconic of Hamilton is it’s well written score with such considerable diversity of genres of music crossing from Hip Hop, to R&B, and even some jazz influence.
The Broadway Musical first debuted in the United States in 2015 before moving to West End and traveling all throughout North America. During the 2016 Tony Awards, Hamilton was nominated for a record-breaking 16 awards, which won 11 of those nominated. Other awards the musical has won are 7 Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
The Singapore cast of Hamilton will include Jason Arrow as Alexander Hamilton leading the cast, Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza Hamilton, and DeAundre’ Woods as Aaron Burr. The Musical is directed by Chantal Prudhomme.
