Prosecco is one drink that is perfectly great on its own, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t get some truly tasty cocktails with it as the base.
We’ve curated a list of easy prosecco cocktail recipes for you to try your hand at home. With easily sourced ingredients as well as simple instructions, get ready to wow your guests at your next dinner party!
1. Aperol Spritz
You can’t do a Prosecco Cocktail recipe listicle without starting with an Aperol Spritz, a classic in the hall of Prosecco Cocktails since the 1950s.
Known for its vibrant hue and slightly bitter taste, the Aperol Spritz is a great Prosecco Cocktail to make at home!
Ingredients: Aperol 60ml Prosecco 90ml A dash Sparkling/Soda Water Orange Slice to garnosh Method: Put some ice in a large tumbler and first pour the Aperol in followed by the Prosecco and sparkling water. Give the mixture a nice stir and serve with a slice of orange.
2. French 75
The French 75 is a classic cocktail usually made with champagne, but it’ll do just as well with Prosecco!
Ingredients: Gin 30ml Lemon Juice 15ml 15ml sugar syrup Prosecco Method: Shake all the ingredients into a highball glass, subsequently add your prosecco and ice. Garnish with a lemon twist and it’s ready to serve.
3. Pink and Tonic
Another cocktail that sees the combination of gin and prosecco, the Pink and Tonic take its inspiration from the release of Gordon’s Pink Gin. You’ll find no sassier cocktail than this one here.
You can, of course, substitute the pink gin for a normal one from Gordon’s, but do note that it’ll drop substantially in sass and lose the good flavours of raspberries and strawberries.
Ingredients: Gordon’s Pink Gin 50ml Prosecco 25ml Lemonade 50ml Method: Put some ice in a large wine glass and pour 50ml of pink gin followed by 25ml of prosecco and 50ml of lemonade.
4. Sgroppino
The Sgroppino is a classic Italian cocktail that beyond its difficult-to-pronounce name, is a splendid refreshing drink for any summer day.
It does require a little more work than the others but the combination of ice cream and prosecco makes the Sgroppino one of the best cocktails to beat the sweltering heat.
Ingredients: Lemon ice cream 2 scoops Prosecco 2 tbsp Vodka or Limoncello 1 tbsp Egg white 1, beaten Lemon zest Method: Blend all the ingredients together until the mixture has a thick cream-like consistency. Pour into a chilled glass, add more prosecco should you want, and top it off with some lemon zest.
5. Prosecco Negroni
A Negroni is primarily made with gin, and we’ve seen previously how prosecco and gin can pair wonderfully, but this time round, we’re swapping out the gin for prosecco.
Using prosecco will turn a Negroni a little lighter and make the drink less bitter overall as well, making the Prosecco Negroni perfect for those who want a Negroni-lite.
Ingredients: Campari 25ml Sweet Vermouth 25ml Prosecco 25ml Orange, 1 slice Method: Pour the Campari and vermouth into a glass and fill with ice. Top with prosecco, gently stir to mix, and serve with an orange slice.
6. Prosecco Mimosa
Mimosas are a beloved cocktail not only because of its freshness and taste, but how easy it is to make them with ingredients that can be found in any grocery store.
A mix of prosecco and orange juice is the classic here but we’d encourage you to experiment with different fruit juices for some fun!
Ingredients: 1 bottle of Prosecco 2 to 4 cups of pulp-free orange juice Method: Fill your champagne flute or glass of your choice halfway with prosecco. Subsequently fill the rest of the glass with orange juice and feel free to change the ratio of prosecco and orange juice to your liking.
7. Apricot Bellini
Bellinis are right up there alongside mimosas as a popular cocktail, with the original recipe coming out of Venice.
A classic Bellini features two parts prosecco with one-part peach puree and a touch of raspberry or cherry juice. There’s even bottled peach puree meant for Bellini and we’d recommend you to get that instead of making your own.
Ingredients: 1 bottle of Prosecco 1 tbsp of peach puree Method: Put one tablespoon of peach puree at the bottom of a chilled glass. Pour your prosecco in and slowly mix until it blends nicely with the puree.
