Malaysia Airlines Brand New Economy & Business Class Cabins Onboard The A330neo

Malaysia Airlines and Airbus have recently collaborated and announced the next iteration of Malaysia Airline’s newest Business Class and Economy Class cabins onboard their upcoming tranche of A330-900neos. Due to join their fleet progressively from the third quarter of 2024 with 4 initially planned for this year. For a total of 20 of these jets, the last A330-900neo in Malaysia Airline’s order book should be delivered by the years end of 2028.

These new medium haul to long haul jets will be configured with 297 seats in total, with 28 business class seats and 269 economy class seats. 

The first aircraft will be deployed to Melbourne, Victoria Australia starting from November 2024. 

Airbus promises to deliver a more premium passenger experience from utilizing the more modern, fuel efficient, and noise reducing Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines. The modern technology and high efficiency design coupled with Airbus’ signature Airspace Cabin, will be ideal for taking Malaysia Airlines a step into the right direction aiding in evolving their products, services of the airline. 

Business Class

Malaysia Airlines will proudly be the flagship airline in the world to choose Collins Aerospace Elevation Business Class Seats onboard the A330 airframe, an all brand new modern and high tech seat design for business class onboard the A330-900neo. This collaboration with Airbus sees Airbus’ Airspace cabin used by Malaysia Airlines to project traditional Songket motifs all over the cabin ceilings above the aisles, and intricate seat cover designs in economy class.

These Business Class seats come in a blue and white toned palette, symbolic of the carrier’s national flag colours and is configured in a 1-2-1 all aisle access layout and come with these in-seat features:

  • Privacy suite sliding doors to prioritise comfort and privacy 
  • Ergonomic seat cushions
  • Highly integrated Inflight Entertainment (IFE) solutions 
  • Kids mode
  • Ample space to work, relax and dine in ultimate comfort
  • Onboard wifi

Economy Class:

Economy class is configured in a 2-4-2 configuration where 24 seats of the 269 economy class seats come with extra legroom and are found at the forward section of the economy class cabin, adorned in a distinguishable Songket seat cover design from the rest of the economy class seats. 

Using the Recaro CL3810 seat model these new economy seats will offer: 

  • Ergonomic design and enhanced support
  • Coat hook
  • Cup holder
  • Ample Stowage
  • Onboard Wifi
