From 28 November to 8 December, the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) returns for its 35th edition, promising a sensational 12 days of cinematic wonder. Known as the region’s longest-running film festival, SGIFF continues to champion the magic of storytelling, shining a spotlight on Southeast Asian talent and offering a platform for extraordinary films from around the globe.

This year’s lineup is nothing short of spectacular, featuring 105 films from 45 countries, with a remarkable 80% of entries hailing from Asia. The festival is a true celebration of diversity, culture, and artistry.

For fans of international cinema, highlights include Nightbitch, a bold horror-comedy starring Amy Adams that’s generating significant buzz, and The Shrouds, a spine-tingling new work by the master of body horror, David Cronenberg. Academy-acclaimed filmmakers are also in the mix, with Cannes award-winner Miguel Gomes unveiling his latest creation, Grand Tour, and a special treat for Bong Joon-ho admirers—a newly restored version of his debut feature, Barking Dogs Never Bite, making its international premiere right here in Singapore.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. SGIFF proudly spotlights homegrown talent with the world premieres of three highly anticipated Singaporean films. Delve into the surreal with Stranger Eyes by the visionary Yeo Siew Hua, experience the poignant narrative of City of Small Blessings by Wong Chen-Hsi, or explore the supernatural with Eric Khoo’s hauntingly beautiful Spirit World.

Don’t miss SGIFF’s opening night at Capitol Theatre on 28 November and catch a glimpse of celebrities and filmmakers gracing the red carpet!

Whether it’s discovering hidden gems, experiencing daring debuts, or revisiting classics, SGIFF offers countless moments to inspire and ignite your passion for cinema.
