October is arguably the BEST time to experience Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan. Why? Because the summer heat has faded, leaving pleasant temperatures perfect for cycling and exploring. And as a bonus, you’ll be treated to the vibrant 2024 Come! BikeDay Sun Moon Lake Fireworks and Music Carnival with its spectacular fireworks show. The event runs from 4 October to 23 November 2024.

Mark your calendars for three spectacular fireworks displays illuminating the night sky above Sun Moon Lake! Catch the first show on October 19th at Ita Thao Pier, followed by another on November 2nd at Shui She Pier. The grand finale takes place on November 23rd at Xiang Shan Visitor Center. Apart from fireworks, there will be a lineup of performances too!
We highly recommend staying at least two nights in Sun Moon Lake to make the most out of it, or even longer! Throughout the festival period, they are offering visitors with discounts on accommodation, attractions, souvenirs and more!
Now, wondering where’s the best spot to enjoy a drink and have a front-row seat to the fireworks? We say Ten Shu Bar!

More than just providing the best vantage point in Sun Moon Lake, Ten Shu Bar pays homage to the Father of Taiwanese Black Tea, Kokichiro Arai.
This Japanese figure played a vital role in safeguarding the region’s tea industry during World War II. Arai bravely shielded essential tea production machinery from being seized for weapons manufacturing, a courageous act that preserved Sun Moon Lake’s famed black tea. He dedicated his life to Taiwan, remaining on the island until his passing.
Their cocktail menu draws inspiration from his story, incorporating local tea and ingredients into unique and flavourful creations. Savour a taste of history while enjoying breathtaking views – Ten Shu Bar is an experience not to be missed!
