Merlion Chronicles: A SG60 Art Exhibition by 25 Artists at MINT Museum of Toys

When it comes to Singapore’s icons, Merlion is easily on top of the list. The mythical creature—half lion, half fish—has adorned countless postcards, selfies, and souvenir shops. As a tribute to SG60, MINT Museum of Toys presents ‘Merlion Chronicles: 25 Artists | 25 Stories about Racial Harmony in Singapore’, featuring the nation’s most recognisable figure into an unexpected canvas for examining what it means to grow up in one of Asia’s most diverse societies.

This free exhibition showcases 25 Sofubi figurines—each a miniature Merlion painted by young local artists who have drawn inspiration from their experiences growing up alongside friends of different races and backgrounds in Singapore. Each figurine tells a personal story of racial harmony, reflecting how Singapore’s next generation views unity in diversity.
