4 Essential Travel Apps You Need for Travel Planning

Are you used to planning your overseas trips with Excel, Word or even pen and paper?

If you are, planning a trip might be stressful for you. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Travel planning has never been easier with these 4 apps.

PackPoint

The app will tell you what you need to pack based on your duration of travel, the weather at your destination, and any activities planned during your trip. Be it for business or leisure, PackPoint will curate packing lists best suited for your trip.

This app not only helps you to remember everything important, but it also prevents overpacking. You can even share your packing lists with other travellers. PackPoint is essential for ease-free packing.

If you upgrade to the premium version, you can even connect to TripIt, another essential travel app. The app will also auto-create your packing list for any activity, no matter how niche.

Rome2Rio

A painful part of travel planning is figuring out how to get from point A to B, which is where Rome2Rio comes in handy. Rome2rio will provide multi-modal transport routes to get you to anywhere in the world.

The app is handy as it allows you to compare the transport options available (Eg. Plane, Train, Ferry etc.) all in one search, saving you plenty of time.

Wanderlog

Previously known as Travelchime, Wanderlog is a travel planner app that helps you to organise your travel details, search for an array of activities to do and map out your vacation all in one app.

Wanderlog has some pretty cool features, like real-time collaboration with your friends, importing of flights and hotel reservations and more. You can also find travel guides for your selected destinations so you can skip planning altogether.

CityMapper

Citymapper is a public transit app and mapping service which displays transport options, usually with live timing, between any two locations in a supported city. It integrates data for all urban modes of transport, including walking, cycling and driving, in addition to public transport.

If you are not great with directions (like me), you will find this app extremely useful navigating metropolitan cities. If you are visiting a city with plenty of public transport options, you will find that CityMapper is far more comprehensive than Google Maps.

Bonus: You can use this app in Singapore as well! CityMapper partnered with LTA, adding Singapore to CityMapper’s sphere of influence.
