The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) is celebrating its 55th anniversary in grand style, and you’re invited to join the festivities with a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly on various iconic military aircraft. As part of the RSAF55 Open House on September 9 and 10 at Paya Lebar Air Base, around 2500 lucky individuals will get the chance to take to the skies on some of the most versatile aircraft in the RSAF fleet.
A Once in A Lifetime Experience
During the RSAF55 Open House, you’ll have the opportunity to take a familiarisation flight on one of five incredible aircraft:

1)A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport: Marvel at the capabilities of this versatile aircraft, often called the “flying gas station,” as it provides aerial refueling support to RSAF fighter jets, extending their range and endurance.

2)CH-47SD Chinook Helicopter: Experience the thrill of flying on this heavy-lift helicopter, which plays a crucial role in troop transport, disaster relief operations, and many other missions.

3)C130 Transport Aircraft: The iconic C130 transport aircraft plays a pivotal role in National Day every year. This aircraft serves as the platform for the Red Lions, Singapore’s elite parachute team, to showcase their freefall display as they descend gracefully from the skies onto Padang.

Balloting for Tickets: Singaporeans and permanent residents can participate in a ballot to win flight tickets. Simply head to FormSG from noon on Thursday and submit your application for up to four tickets. The ballot will be open for five weeks until noon on August 22.
Social Media Giveaways and Contests: For additional chances to win tickets, keep an eye on the RSAF’s Instagram page and Youtube channel. From Friday until August 22, they’ll be running exciting giveaways and contests.
Important Details:
- To ensure the safety of all participants, certain restrictions apply. Those with mobility issues that may affect their movement during emergency, pre-existing heart or lung conditions, or expectant mothers cannot take part in the familiarization flights.
- The minimum age to board the aircraft is five years old, and participants must be at least one metre tall
