River Hongbao 2025: Giant Lanterns, Firecrackers, Food Street and Live Performances at Gardens by the Bay

River Hongbao 2025 marks a doubly significant celebration as it coincides with Singapore’s 60th year of independence (SG60). This Chinese New Year festival takes place at Gardens by the Bay, combining traditional Lunar New Year festivities with tributes to Singapore’s diamond jubilee.

Expect dazzling lantern displays, firecracker, cultural performances, interactive exhibits, and festive cheer at Gardens by the Bay which will run from January 27th to February 5th, 2025.

The 10-day festival welcomes visitors daily, offering extended hours from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM after its opening weekend. True to Singapore’s spirit of inclusivity, this cultural spectacle remains free for all, inviting everyone to partake in its celebration of heritage and community.

There will also be firecracker displays in commemoration of SG60 on the first three nights, with 60 strands on the opening evening and 30 strands on the second and third nights.

Don’t miss the meaningful exhibition about remittance letters – it’s like stepping back in time to see how early Chinese migrants kept in touch with their families back home. Really makes you appreciate today’s instant messaging, doesn’t it?
