Introducing Singapore’s First-ever Hainanese Chicken Rice Biscuit Sticks

I remember being mind-blown when I first saw Yakun’s kopi-o (black coffee) and kaya (pandan spread) as flavours for Glico’s Pocky. I guess up to that point, I never imagined local flavours could be re-imagined in this way.

And this is apparently just the beginning.

This time round, as part of our nation’s National Day celebration, Glico’s PRETZ line is seeing a collaboration with famous local Chicken Rice brand Wee Nam Kee. The result? Singapore’s first ever Hainanese Chicken Rice PRETZ biscuit sticks!

Now, as we all know, a perfect chicken rice isn’t easy to do, having to nail several various components. There’s the poached chicken, fragrant chicken rice, not forgetting chilli and ginger, so it’s a tall task indeed.

It’ll be interesting to see how PRETZ and Wee Nam Kee translate all that complex flavours and essence you get with a full plate chicken rice into a crispy biscuit snack.

Regardless, PRETZ X Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice Biscuit Sticks are only priced at only S$1.60, so it’s certainly worth a try and a fun snack to share around with friends!

Exclusive to Singapore, the Hainanese Chicken Rice Pretz will be retailing at S$1.60 (31 grams per pack) at all Wee Nam Kee outlets (Changi City Point, SingPost Centre, Northpoint City, Jurong Point, Marina Square, United Square) from 5th August 2020 onwards and distributed across major supermarkets in Singapore afterwards. While stocks last.
