The Book Cafe had its genesis as the cafe of MPH Bookshop at Stamford Road. A stand alone branch was opened at Martin Road in September 2000. It subsequently changed hands in a management buyout, and has remained a family owned establishment since.
Over the years, it has morphed into laid-back second living room for guests to Browse books, magazines, and the www; Chill on one of our comfy chesterfield sofas; Eat comfort food you can count on, and Drink coffee, tea and other homemade thirst quenchers.
The business has survived the test of time by anchoring around four core values: Being Gracious, Co-ownership, Doing everything with Love, and Endearing ourselves as friends.
