By Car
For seasoned drivers, you can get to Desaru Coast via Woodlands Checkpoint. You’ll drive to Johor Bahru first, then past Taman Austin to Ulu Tiram, and from there it’s a relatively simple journey to Desaru. (You can bookmark the route here).
Alternatively, you can consider hiring a private car service. This option is recommended for large families travelling with the elderly and children, as it is the most convenient. Private car service will typically cost between S$180 and S$300 for one-way.
By Bus
Currently, KKKL Bus is the only bus transport company that offers this service every Friday, 9am departing from Kovan Hub. The entire journey will take approximately 2.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions and Customs clearance. It is the most affordable option at S$25.00 for one-way. The bus will arrive at the following locations: Hard Rock Hotel Desaru, The Westin Desaru, Desaru Water Park, and Four Points by Sheraton Desaru. Similarly, for the journey back to Singapore from Desaru, these four locations are also the pick-up points.
By Ferry
With the new ferry route from Singapore to Desaru, you can easily reach the idyllic coastal town in just 90minutes. At the moment, the ferry runs only from Thursday to Sunday. The ferry leaves Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal at 830am and the departure in Desaru is 530pm. One-way tickets are S$70, while return tickets are S$118. Once you arrive at the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal, there is a free shuttle bus service to golf courses, hotels, and attractions of Desaru Coast.
