Though it has been said that the best Christmas holiday would be to jet off to Europe and meander through the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market) with a mug of warm glühwein in one hand, being stuck in Singapore doesn’t mean you need to miss out.
Even without the snow, there are still plenty of Christmas festivities to get yourself into the merry mood and provide the perfect excuse to binge on Christmas goodies.
The Season of Joy at The Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES

What we are really excited about is the Capitol Kempinski Christmas Skating Rink! For those who’ve caught the feel-good festive movie ‘Last Christmas’, you should know what I’m talking about! Surrounded by fairy lights and Christmas tunes…can it get any more Christmassy than this?
Even better, there is a live Christmas band right next to the skating rink! The colossal Capitol Kempinski Singing Tree, the first-ever at Capitol Singapore, comes to life by the voices of over 30 carollers, who will be singing live carols for you and your loved ones on schedule.
Put on your best outfit and prep your Instagram because festive backdrops and illuminations abound in CHIJMES Instagram Wonderland, just merely a stone’s throw away from Capitol Kempinski.
There will also be a Laser Projection Show that will display festive animations on the façade of the historic CHIJMES Hall. Have your breath taken away by scenes of Christmas from the olden days where chapels and traditional wooden houses are aplenty, decorated by Santa’s helper elves for the holidays.
If you look closely, you will also spot Santa waving at you from the balcony! Other scenes include that of a snowy kingdom of the Ice Princess complete with her snow castle. She will dance and sing along with animals from the nearby forest to celebrate her icy Christmas. Look out for QR codes that will be shown amidst the shows and scan them for a chance to redeem gifts from CHIJMES!
It’s the largest European-style Christmas celebration in Singapore’s Civic District so you can’t miss this one!
