Asakusa is one of Tokyo’s most traditional and atmospheric districts. It’s home to the famous Senso-ji temple, as well as a myriad of other attractions, shops, and restaurants. If you’re in the vicinity and searching for a sweet treat, you must visit Kagurachaka Petit, a matcha specialty shop that serves adorable and insta-worthy matcha lattes, matcha-flavoured desserts, and milk toast.
The world’s richest Matcha latte, according to the cafe, can be found right here. They have 8 Matcha intensity levels on their menu, and you can add toppings like crispy rice teddy bears and marshmallows. They also serve Caramel butter churros, which pair wonderfully with dark matcha. Every Friday, this cafe will also be serving pancakes, and most of the time it will be fully booked, so it is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance.
From the look of the menu, it’s clear that the price and intensity of the Matcha offered go hand in hand.
Karaguchaka Petit also offers a breakfast menu too from 7am to 12noon and other choices of beverages too like Iced milk gelato and Iced coffee, if you’re not in the mood for matcha. As of October 2022, they have temporarily halted their breakfast menu.
