Wendy Loh’s trip to Bali with her colleague and colleague’s families was a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement! She shared that it was easier to travel together as they have similar off days. The highlight of their journey was an exhilarating jeep ride up Mt Batur (1,717 metres), where they stayed connected without any interruptions – all thanks to ChangiWiFi‘s reliable travel connectivity!
Whether they were having a thrilling adventure amid mountainous terrains or savouring local delicacies, Wendy was able to share her experiences in real-time, making her Bali adventure even more memorable. As an avid iRecommend member, Wendy enthusiastically recommends ChangiWiFi for hassle-free and guaranteed connection for travelling.
“Having a lightweight, portable ChangiWiFi device for data roaming in Bali was certainly a blessing! It ensured stable and reliable travel data connectivity throughout my trip,” Wendy says. She was also particularly impressed by the easy booking process, convenient collection and return of the device at the airport, as well as the 24/7 customer support. The affordable rental rates with no hidden charges were a bonus, making ChangiWiFi an indispensable travel companion for her and her group.
“We didn’t have any issues using it, and we never needed to activate the standby travel SIM provided inside the package. It’s also convenient to use, especially when travelling with larger groups,” Wendy shares. “For example, ChangiWiFi has been a big saviour for my friend who couldn’t connect using the eSIM she bought elsewhere. Since the ChangiWiFi router can connect up to five devices, she was able to use the internet by sharing the router with me!” Wendy adds.
A TRANQUIL STAY
With seamless connectivity taken care of, Wendy and her travel mates could fully focus on their holiday. First things first: finding accommodations that everyone would enjoy. Fortunately, Bali offers a wide variety of accommodations to suit every type of traveller. Wendy and her group chose the Le Jardin Boutique Hotel, a dreamy villa they found on TripAdvisor. They booked directly with the villa and secured a lavish place featuring three spacious rooms, each with an ensuite bathtub and a private pool.
ATTRACTIONS AND ADVENTURES
Once settled in, Wendy and her group set out to explore the vibrant and diverse attractions Bali has to offer. They were eager to immerse themselves in the island’s unique blend of culture, nature, and adventure. With ChangiWiFi, they had no trouble finding Bali’s best spots to visit, making it a breeze to explore the island and uncover some hidden gems along the way.
Sundari Day Spa
Wendy and her group kicked off their Bali vacation with a relaxing massage at Sundari Day Spa. Known for its rave reviews on TripAdvisor, Sundari Day Spa even provided complimentary one-way transport from the villa. “First stop of the day: Sundari Day Spa for our massage! It’s a much-needed treat after working so hard back home, and of course, it’s part of our plan for a chillax holiday in Bali!” Wendy says.
Bintang Supermarket, Seminyak
Next, they dived into the vibrant chaos of Bintang Supermarket in Seminyak. From exotic foods to quirky souvenirs and trendy clothing, this hypermarket was a treasure trove. The group had a great time exploring the aisles and picking up unique finds.
Double Six Beach
As the sun set, they made their way to the Double Six Beach. They stopped at Capil Beach Grill & Bar, where they relaxed on beanbags under umbrellas, sipping drinks. The breathtaking sunset views set the perfect scene for their beachside chill. Wendy’s tip: “Just grab a drink and plop down on a beanbag under an umbrella to chill out.”
Mt Batur
After a relaxing first day, the group was all charged up for the exciting Mt Batur Jeep Experience the next day. Rising at 1:30am to catch the 4:00am sunrise was challenging, but the adventure proved incredibly rewarding. Wendy was thrilled by the convoy of jeeps navigating the rugged, bumpy paths to the mountain’s peak.
“The overall view and experience were worth it. It was amazing how all the jeeps managed to navigate the steep paths. And when the sun finally started rising, everyone cheered,” she fondly recalls. “I’m so glad I had my ChangiWiFi router with me. It stayed stable consistently, even up in the mountainous terrain, keeping me connected all the way,” Wendy adds.
CULINARY DELIGHTS
Attractions aside, the group’s culinary adventures made the trip even more memorable. From diving into local street food gems to enjoying exquisite dining experiences, Wendy fully soaked up Bali’s tantalising food scene.
Dewata by Monsieur Spoon Petitenget
Near their spa, they stumbled upon Dewata by Monsieur Spoon Petitenget, a fusion café. Here, they delighted in Nasi Bebek Campur Bali, Ayam Betutu, and Gado-Gado Kacang Almond. “It turns out this restaurant is one of the Top 11 cafes in Bali,” Wendy says.
Ganesha Cafe
For dinner, the group went to Ganesha Kedonganan, an eatery with cosy sea views. They indulged in a feast of grilled oysters, squid, prawns, kingfish, and kangkong – the combination of delicious seafood and the soothing ocean breeze made for an unforgettable dining experience.
AKASA Specialty Coffee
The following day, right after the Jeep experience, they had breakfast at AKASA Specialty Coffee, which looked out to the vistas of Mt Batur. Wendy enjoyed the Special Omelette with a Matcha Latte, savouring both the panoramic view and the food. “I thought this place was overly hyped by influencers. The food was pretty standard, but the view, hands-down, was to die for,” she notes.
Bebek Tepi Sawah Restaurant, Ubud
Next, the group went to Bebek Tepi Sawah in Ubud for lunch. Dining amidst Balinese rice fields, the group enjoyed the restaurant’s signature Nasi Bebek. The unique setting and flavourful food made for an exceptional experience.
“They have multiple branches across Bali – in Ubud, Kuta, and Tuban. My friend first discovered it through an Indonesian driver guide. The restaurant serves both Indonesian and Western cuisine but is famous for its Nasi Bebek – rice served with its signature crispy Balinese duck! Even the Indonesian president himself dines at this restaurant frequently. Besides their signature dish, they offer a dining experience in the middle of the Balinese rice fields, showcasing the origins of Nasi Bebek,” Wendy explains.
Merah Putih
Dinner on the last day was at Merah Putih, a fine dining restaurant known for its exquisite Indonesian cuisine. “Here’s a tip: book online beforehand to secure seats as walk-ins are subject to availability. We recommend trying their chargrilled fish, coconut rice, and steak. Their wines, cocktails, and mocktails are also excellent,” says Wendy.
Dolci Gelato Bali
Before bidding farewell to Bali, they made a pit stop at Dolci Gelato, renowned for its exceptional gelato. The affordable prices and premium flavours made it the perfect sweet ending to their Bali getaway!
For Wendy, Bali was a smooth sailing journey, which was made more memorable with ChangiWiFi. With ChangiWiFi’s stable and fast connection, Wendy could effortlessly get around Bali while staying connected with her travel group as well as her family and friends.
