Something as magical and awe-inspiring like Disneyland seems like it has been around since forever, sprouting up in the middle of the night one day to bring joy to all across the world when its doors open in the morning.
But as unbelievable as it seems, Disneyland Paris is only 28 years old, originally built back in 1992. Also known as Euro Disney Park, Disneyland Paris is the mecca for theme park enthusiasts in Europe, and naturally the most-visited theme park for the region.
2020 is the year of anticipation as Disneyland Paris is slated to launch new attractions and rides that will have everyone young and old entering the grounds of the happiest place on Earth.
From Marvel to Star Wars, and Disney’s hit Frozen, it’s time to buckle up as you’ll be in for one massive ride (or maybe like smaller-not-so-massive-but-still-awesome rides).
A Revitalised Resort
The highly anticipated reopening of Disney’s Hotel New York comes with the latest reimagining, The Art of Marvel.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel celebrates 80 years of Marvel storytelling set in a typical New York-esque skyscraper with an Art Deco style. Inspired by the various New York art galleries, The Art of Marvel pays tribute to the many superheroes, comic book characters, and artists who reside in the Big Apple.
This massive project by Disneyland Paris will see them collaborating with over 50 artists from Marvel Comics and Studios to create 300+ artworks, including comic book covers, illustrations from films, original sketches and more, resulting in what is potentially the largest Marvel artwork gallery in the world.
From morning Meet and Greet sessions with your favourite Marvel superheroes to exploring all the various artworks, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel takes immersive accommodations to a whole new level.
A Sprinkle of Seasonal Events
From January 11 all the way to May 3, 2020, Disneyland Paris will be celebrating one of Disney’s biggest hit franchises of the 2010s – Frozen.
Over the course of five months, visitors will get to bask in the Frozen festivities four times a day during the parade. Frozen Celebration will star Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, along with a smattering of dancers and acrobats all on a new Frozen-inspired float.
The Disney Illuminations that happen at will also feature the magical adventures of Anna and Elsa. If you’re visiting Disneyland Paris in the first half of the year, you wouldn’t want to miss out on the Frozen festivities, not that you can really.
You can also expect a new season of Marvel Super Heroes after the resounding success of the first two events. Happening from March 28 till June 7, 2020, the new Marvel Super Heroes Season will bring to life the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has captured the hearts of everyone worldwide.
From epic shows featuring your favourite Marvel characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man to colossal statues, and even face paintings, you don’t want to miss this season of Marvel Super Heroes at Disneyland Paris.
Legends of the Force: A Celebration of Star Wars makes a return to Disneyland Paris from January 11 to March 15, 2020, and perhaps at a good time as the Skywalker saga wraps up on the Big Screen.
In the day, don’t miss the stage show where you’ll get close to Rey, BB-8, and other titular characters, and remember to flash your biggest smiles as you pose with the legendary Chewbacca. Come night time, catch the spectacular night show featuring the iconic sights and sounds of the Star Wars franchise.
However, it’s not just the Light Side visitors will see. A new First Order Recruitment will be taking place, helmed by Kylo Ren himself, and witness the imposing Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Imperial March right before your eyes.
New Attractions & Lands Emerging
Frozen: A Musical Invitation debuted since November 2019 and has since enthralled young fans who fell in love with the world of Arendelle along with its cast and characters.
Frozen: A Musical Invitation is a new interactive adventure where guests can play and interact with all their favourite characters through various stages that will take them on a journey of the Kingdom of Arendelle.
You’ll get to learn how to sing and dance with Anna and Kristoff, step into the ice palace and belt it out with Elsa, and of course meet everyone’s favourite snowman, Olaf.
Quite possibly one of the most anticipated and hyped attractions the world is waiting for, Avengers Campus will be a new Marvel-themed area that will feature some of the most action-packed adventure one can have at Disneyland.
Visitors can potentially look forward to the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB) interactive Spider-Man attraction or the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster turned into a high-speed adventure where guests will team up with their favourite Marvel characters featuring Iron Man and the Avengers.
The Avengers Campus is but one of a multi-year expansion that will see the creation of other thematic areas like Frozen Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disneyland Paris is slowly but surely undergoing a massive change and it looks to be an exciting future for Euro Disney.
