What if the most spectacular fireworks display made no sound at all, created no pollution, and sent no animals running for cover?
From London’s bustling streets to Tokyo’s neon-lit skyline, from Melbourne’s cultural quarters to Riyadh’s desert nights, Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde’s SPARK has been answering that very question, captivating audiences across the globe. Now, this revolutionary light installation makes its Southeast Asian debut, choosing Gardens by the Bay as its stage for four enchanting evenings.
SPARK is a silent, sustainable alternative—no explosions, no toxins. Just thousands of biodegradable light sparks floating through the air, inspired by the ancient dance of fireflies and stars. These floating lights offer a glimpse of what celebration could look like in a world that’s finally learned to tread more lightly. Visitors are encouraged to stroll beneath the floating lights, recline on the grass, and enjoy a longer, communal experience.

SPARK is jointly organised by Gardens by the Bay and H&B, with art partner IMBA, and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore. It is a celebration of 60 years of strong bilateral ties between the Netherlands and Singapore, on the occasion of SG60. SPARK is supported by GIC.
