Are you sick and tired of the Swiftie effect that has taken the nation by storm the last week?
Well now that it’s over, lets look ahead to the next big thing coming our way.
Bruno Mars will be the next big celebrity to perform on our shores come April 2024 (in just a few weeks)! Bruno Mars will be playing at the National Stadium in Singapore, where Taylor Swift has just performed at for two weekends. Initially announcing only 1 night, on the 5th of April 2024 which saw incredible demand for ticket sales, Mars then added a second and third show on the 6th of April, and the 3rd of April respectively as demand was overwhelming.
Mars has achieved 8 songs peaking at number 1 of the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. His latest album, ’24K Magic’ launched in 2016 and remained in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 200 for 44 consecutive weeks. Some of his latest hits include: ‘Leave the Door Open‘, ‘24K Magic‘ and ‘That’s What I Like‘
Holding the title of 14th time Grammy Award Winner, this tour is not album specific but more likely a showcase of the musical projects that Mars has been apart of, regardless of being a solo artist, or currently now part of a duo member band called ‘Silk Sonic’. The band consists of Bruno Mars himself and Anderson .Paak. Focusing on soul, R&B and funk pop, the duo has recently released an album in 2021 titled ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic‘.
The first time that Mars performed in Singapore was a decade ago as part of his ‘Moonshine Jungle Tour’ at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in March of 2014, and almost exactly 10 years later, he returns playing in the National Stadium this time.
Even though Mars will be playing 3 nights in the massive 50,000 capacity stadium, Mars will also be playing in other venues in Asia such as Bangkok in Thailand and Tokyo in Japan. Therefore it is expected that the fanfare and spectacle that Swift brought to the nation, will not be replicated in a similar extent that Swift did.
Will you be going for one of the 3 concert nights in April? Or perhaps are you a die-hard Bruno Mars fan and planning to go for all 3?
