BOLIVIA, La Paz – Only in the lofty city of La Paz where the main transportation is not cars, or public buses or trains, but cable cars.
Situated 3,640 meters above sea level, La Paz is the highest administrative capital city in the world. Stepping out of the plane, you can’t help but feel a little lightheaded with the thinner mountain air. You’ll get used to it sooner rather than later and start to be awed by the surreal sight that lies before you.
The entire city is enveloped in a mountainous valley with a colourful cityscape that seems bizarre and out of this world. With plenty of things to explore within the city, and stunning surrounding natural landscapes, La Paz, Bolivia, is a must-visit for everyone from the adventurous to the cultural chaser.
