FRANCE, Chambord – Nestled in the small valley of Loire is Château de Chambord with a French Renaissance architecture that has made it one of the most recognisable and iconic chateaus in the world.

Though not mentioned as one of the principal builders of the chateau, it is said that the castle bears the influence of renowned painter, architect, and engineer Leonardo da Vinci. Many have pointed to the double helix central staircase and ventilation system as bearing the mark of a genius only Leonardo could have.

What’s most magical perhaps is a central tower within the grounds that gives a 360 panorama view of the entire valley, a breathtaking sight that is unparalleled.
