UNITED STATES, Oregon – This natural wonder in the middle of Cape Pepetua in Oregon has many names: the “drainpipe of the Pacific”, the “gate to hell”, and most famously, “Thor’s Well”.

Though it looks like its depth is unimaginable, this hole in a rock formation goes 20 feet deep. Come high tide is when the waters of the Pacific Ocean rush and funnel into the hole, creating a mystical sight that has mesmerised many photographers and adventurers. Careful not to be swept up in its force as you admire the rush of the waters.
