Here’s How I Spent My Weekend at Regent Taipei: Sustainable Brunch and Retail Therapy

When it comes to luxury weekend experiences in Taipei, you really can’t miss Regent Taipei. This past weekend, I discovered why this iconic hotel has become synonymous with refined dining and premium shopping, all while embracing sustainability in the most elegant way possible.

A Sustainable Brunch That Sets New Standards

My weekend began with what I can confidently call the most luxurious brunch experience I’ve had to date. Regent Taipei has partnered with a Michelin Green Star restaurant to create a sustainable brunch menu that showcases the best of Taiwan’s local produce while actively working to reduce food waste, a initiative that’s both environmentally conscious and deliciously executed.

The menu focuses on Western American classics with beautiful presentation. I chose the Eggs Benedict with Heirloom Tomato Salad and U.S. Hamburger Steak (NT$1,280), which was perfectly made.

For a more adventurous option, Regent Taipei offers an East-meets-West dish: Boston Lobster with Deep-fried Chicken Gua Bao (NT$1,480). This playful twist on Taiwan’s beloved gua bao pairs crispy chicken with premium lobster for a memorable bite. These breakfast items are made with free-range eggs and seasonal produce from local farms, which makes the experience feel as good as it tastes. If you’re in the mood to indulge, premium add-ons include Astra Caviar (NT$580) and Hokkaido Scallop (NT$480).

Each main course also comes with fresh juice, access to a salad bar showcasing regional Taiwanese ingredients, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and premium coffee selections—including their signature Almond Coffee and a smooth decaffeinated Colombian brew. Personally, I loved the addition of the salad bar—it added a vibrant, fresh element that balanced out the indulgence of brunch.

On a side note, their fresh juice combinations are equally satisfying! Here’s what I ordered – Matcha Chia Pudding with Guava juice.

The brunch experience was elevated even further by a roving cart service offering paper-thin slices of Iberico Ham, delicately paired with honeydew and finished with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette.

Shopping at Regent Galleria

After brunch, I wandered through Regent Galleria, the hotel’s upscale shopping arcade. It’s home to an enviable selection of international and local brands, the galleria strikes a balance between cosmopolitan sophistication and Taiwanese heritage.

For fellow Singaporeans who share my fascination with Pierre Hermé macarons, you’ll be delighted to know there’s an outpost right here in Regent Taipei.

The galleria also features a Michelin-starred restaurant, the famous Japanese soufflé pancakes cafe that have taken Asia by storm, Taiwan’s artisanal tea brand ‘Cha Cha Thé’, as well as the heritage confectioner Jiu Zhen Nan. And right in the hotel’s lobby, you’ll find the Louis Vuitton store that is impossible to miss.

And if that isn’t enough, Louis Vuitton’s standalone flagship is just steps away from Regent Taipei. Often referred to as the “Louis Vuitton Building”, it is known for its distinctive architectural design and a wide range of products. Walking through feels more like exploring a luxury gallery than traditional shopping.

Fashion lovers will appreciate both the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, complete with shoes that’ll have you reconsidering your entire wardrobe. The accessories section is equally dangerous for your wallet, featuring everything from statement sunglasses to elegant scarves, belts, and ties. They also carry the complete fragrance line if you’re looking to discover your new signature scent.

During my visit, I had the opportunity to customise a luggage tag, one of the exclusive experiences that Regent Taipei recommends for their hotel guests.

This attention to creating memorable, personalised experiences is what truly distinguishes Regent Taipei from other luxury hotels. It’s not just about providing accommodation, it’s about curating moments that you’ll treasure long after you check out.
