Have the Pyramids of Giza always been on your bucket list, but the thought of a grueling layover kept you from booking the trip? Well, dust off your travel vision board because getting to the land of the pharaohs is about to get a whole lot easier!
EgyptAir, alongside Changi Airport Group and Sydney Airport, just dropped some major travel news: they are planning to launch a brand-new service connecting Cairo, Singapore, and Sydney starting in early 2027.
Right now, if you want to fly from Singapore to Egypt, you’re looking at least one transit stop in places like Dubai, Doha, or Bahrain.
Here are a few quick details on what we know so far:

You’ll be cruising in comfort. EgyptAir plans to operate this route using their Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The proposed service is slated to kick off in early 2027 (giving us plenty of time to save up those travel funds).
The whole thing is still subject to regulatory approvals, and we’re currently waiting on the official flight schedules and ticket prices.
In 2025, Egypt was actually the largest African market without a direct flight from either Singapore or Australia. Beyond just making our holidays easier, this new route is expected to heavily boost cultural and economic ties between the three countries.
