At WOKE Ramen, the noodles are first stir-fried in seasoned woks that singe them just right for that prized wok hei before being doused and served in hearty bowls of creamy chicken collagen and sweet prawn broths. By stir-frying the noodles in the wok over high heat, it gives them an extra smoky flavour not found in other types of ramen.
The fragrant scent of wok hei in each steaming bowl of ramen was a tantalising tease to my taste buds. I took a first sip of the broth and was blown away by this unexpected combination! If you’re looking for a comforting bowl of ramen, I highly recommend stopping by this location before or after your flight!
Wok Hei in two different broths
WOKE Ramen offers two types of base broths to enjoy its wok hei smokiness with – Chicken Collagen Broth and Prawn Broth.
Chicken Chashu Collagen Ramen ($13.90) is a must-try, with grilled chicken chashu, onsen egg, black fungus, and spring onions among the ingredients.
If you’re looking to really indulge, the Seafood Mix Prawn Ramen ($18.90) is a treasure trove of seafood with the full works of prawn paste balls, Tiger prawns and scallops served atop wok hei ramen, onsen egg, black fungus and spring onions in the prized savoury prawn broth.
Besides the Wok hei-style ramen for mains, there are also side dishes like WOKE Gyoza ($4.50), Chicken Karaage ($4.50), Five Spice Beancurd ($3.50), Golden Beancurd Skin ($3.50) available for sharing.
