Come March 2025, Printemps will open its new New York outpost in one of the city’s most emblematic Art Deco buildings, just east of Broadway in the heart of Lower Manhattan’s financial district. This historic 55-story masterpiece, designed by Ralph Thomas Walker (named Architect of the Century in 1957), has elegantly stood the test of time and has now been transformed into a luxury residential building.
160 Years of Shopping
In 2025, Printemps Paris celebrates its 160th anniversary with a year-long series of events highlighting its rich history and innovative spirit. The first act of this anniversary, the “Primavera, l’Art à la Mode” exhibition opened its doors to visitors on January 14 in the heart of the Printemps de la Femme Atrium.
Founded in 1912, Primavera – which means “spring” in Italian – was the first design studio to be integrated into a department store, with the ambition of democratizing access to art. Printemps is exhibiting a selection of XXL reproductions of textiles from the MAD Paris and the Bibliothèque Forney, as well as catalogs and a hundred pieces of ceramics from the 1920s-1930s from its own heritage collections.
