Most of us can agree that Marché restaurant in Singapore is possibly the best place to get your rösti fix.

But nothing else can make you feel like you have been teleported to the Swiss Alps. Obviously, you’re still in Singapore with a plate of pan-fried potato cake. As much as the countryside décor and wooden furnishing do make up for the warm and cosy ambience but still nothing beats dining in the birthplace of the restaurant — Switzerland itself.

What do you mean? They are all across the country. Yes, it is a part of their heritage, like how you can find Mcdonald’s Ya Kun Kaya Toast all over Singapore. (Is there a particular famous Ya Kun Kaya Toast in Singapore? Let me know.)

Although Marché restaurants are all across Switzerland, there is one particular outstanding outlet that you definitely have to visit – Marché Heidiland.

Established in 1990 on the highway of Switzerland as the flagship outlet, it has long been a favourite among the locals and has earned its title as the most charming pit stop in Europe. It is impossible to miss this stop with its iconic turret against the breathtaking sight of Swiss Alps.

Enjoy fresh meals in the warm and cosy atmosphere of Marche Heidiland nestled amidst the Swiss Alps. Surreal.
