CHINA, Beijing – Designed by the late Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, the September-opening Beijing Daxing International Airport aims to be one of the world’s best airports, to be mentioned in the same breath as Singapore’s Changi Airport and Qatar’s Hamad.
The design is signature of Hadid’s work, who’s known for her large monumental and aggressively curvilinear work. The airport is described in media circles as a giant six-armed alien starfish, though we think it’s a little more reminiscent of Spiderman.
