A blend of old world and new, Singapore’s skyline has about 80 skyscrapers that line the island’s southern coast, with rows of old shophouses and colonial buildings in its unique mix.
This means that the city has grown to be bustling with rooftop bars and restaurants. From fine dining establishments to the snazziest nightclubs, we’ve rounded up the best spots for you to take in the views of one of the world’s best city skylines.
1. Get Teepee-d at Mr Stork
Staying true to the notion of a garden city is Mr Stork, located on the 39th floor of Andaz Singapore.
The space boasts laidback vibes and a serene respite with a backdrop of the bustling city. Even if you’re not hungry, be sure to try out their cocktails – inspired by the tropics, while you kick back in one of their teepee-style huts.

2. Dining in the SKAI
If you love the idea of dining in the sky, then definitely make a reservation at SKAI.
This contemporary Ishiyaki restaurant is located on the 70th floor (yes, you read that right) of Swissotel The Stamford. You’ll be accompanied with unending views of the city, as you indulge in the finest of internationally sourced ingredients and bespoke cocktails to suit every mood.

3. Dine Among the Stars at JAAN
The Michelin Guide has been around in Singapore for a few years now and has given the city’s F&B scene a major boost. JAAN by Kirk Westaway is one of the establishments that made it onto the list – earning themselves one star and even a place on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2019.
Also located on the 70th level of Swissotel The Stamford along with SKAI, the restaurant offers reinvented British cuisine (think traditional pea soup with a sophisticated twist) along with views of Singapore’s southern coast.

4. A Tropic Slice in the CBD at 1927
Another nod to the garden city is 1927 at SO Sofitel Singapore. While it may not be as high as the others in this list, this quaint nook within the Central Business District provides unobstructed views of the surrounding concrete jungle.
Cool off from the heat in the pool within its premises and sip on tipples from a list of contemporary cocktails (P.S. Try their Absinthe Colada, an absinthe-infused variation of a Pina Colada) and snack on gourmet bar bites.

5. A Guided View at The Lighthouse Restaurant and Rooftop Bar
The Lighthouse Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, located on the rooftop of The Fullerton Hotel is probably the most historic spot on this list. Aptly named, its location is exactly where ships were guided safely into Singapore’s port during the 19th and 20th century.
It has now been transformed into a restaurant offering classic Southern Italian far and panoramic views of Marina Bay on one side, the Central Business District on the other, and Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer. The views are almost romantic – which explains why it is very popular with couples on date night.

6. The Other View at The Other Roof
Besides the high-rise buildings, Singapore’s skyline is also made up of heritage shophouses that reflect its multicultural influences. In present day, most shophouses have now been transformed into cafes, bars and even office spaces.
The Other Roof at Ann Siang House is one of them. The beautifully restored boutique hotel is in the Chinatown district, located slightly away from the CBD. While you admire the contrast of old and new at this urban tropic spot, try their quirky concoctions of in-house created spirits and tea infused cocktails.

7. Follow the Light at Lantern
Perched along the waterfront next to The Fullerton Hotel, is its sister property The Fullerton Bay Hotel.
Head up to its rooftop bar, Lantern, decked out in lush tropical greenery. Enjoy the sea breeze in one of their private cabanas or chill in its infinity pool and be treated to gorgeous unobstructed views of the Singapore’s Marina Bay and its surroundings. The bar also makes for a perfect spot to catch the daily laser light shows from Marina Bay Sands hotel.

8. Breath-taking Views and Beats Meet at CE LA VI
A trip to Singapore is probably not complete without a visit to Marina Bay Sands.
Perched right on top of this icon is CE LA VI. Have a go at their take on mod-Asian cuisine at the restaurant, or head over to the club lounge where you might get the chance to party with resident or celebrity DJs and unparalleled views of the Singapore skyline.

9. There’s a High Society at LAVO
Sharing the same rooftop as CE LA VI at Marina Bay Sands is LAVO. If you choose to head over, be sure to expect a luxurious welcome. Part of the TAO Group (the guys who own the Marquee chain of nightclubs), the restaurant offers elevated Italian American dishes (think wagyu sausages in their version of a spag-bol).
Just like its neighbour, the restaurant turns into a party scene at night with exciting DJ acts and a view to match.
