SPAIN, Granada – With cobblestoned streets to medieval architecture, Granada is one of those cities which transports you back in time just by virtue of being there. The city, though, is nothing but vibrant and filled with exuberance. From brightly-coloured walls to immaculately-designed facades, Granada epitomises the passionate Spanish culture.
Something you’ll notice as you walk through the streets of Granada are beautiful potted plants that adorn the faces of walls from top to bottom. Often called the Hanging Gardens of Spain, this gardening method said to date back to the days before indoor plumbing and is prime for homes without soil for gardening.
There are even festivals for people to showcase their own personal “hanging garden”, and it’s a feast for the eyes to see these hanging potted plants inject some colour and life into the plain walls of Granada, Spain.
