6 Beautiful Resort Hotels With Private Pools in Malaysia

Nothing says luxury and indulgence more than a private pool in your own backyard. And you know you’ve made it big when your house is the only one in the neighbourhood with a personal pool. But for us mere mortals, having a swimming pool in our abode is a goal that is hardly realistic — at least for us average joes anyway.

So we look at the next best thing — no, it’s not buying a condo that comes with a swimming pool. Rather, take a gander at these resort hotels located all over Malaysia that have villas/rooms with their own attached private pool.

Hey if you can’t own it, then you could at least buy the one-night experience, right?

1. Grand Lexis Port Dickson

Starting off our list is the uber-popular travel beach destination, Port Dickson. Specifically, the Grand Lexis Port Dickson is where you’ll want to spend the night at.

The resort boasts over 300 villas that all (yes, every single one) come with their own private pool. Some villas are even located over the clear waters of the Malaysian seas — providing a serene environment for a romantic getaway.

We’d suggest booking the Deluxe Pool Villa which has been tailor-made for couples looking for a lovely retreat. The cosy 667 square feet villa has a glass panel on the floor to view the curious marine life below. Other than that, the villa comes with a dry kitchenette and a bathroom equipped with rain shower — besides the semi-outdoor private swimming pool, of course.

Apart from the private amenities, the resort also offers a whole host of recreational activities for you to do during your time there. Among them are bicycle rentals, archery range, and even a karaoke room. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous the resort can even arrange fishing and crabbing activities to accommodate you.

2. The Orchard Wellness & Health Resort

If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Orchard Wellness and Health Resort is just what you need. Known for their top-notch services, you’ll find yourself pampered silly at the resort.

Interested? You’ll first have to make your way to the historic city of Melaka. The Orchard Wellness and Health Resort is tucked away in a remote pocket just under an hour’s drive from the city.

But once you’re there, you’ll immediately feel the tension in your body fades away. This resort focuses on providing a relaxing stay for its patrons. Expect wellness services like yoga and meditation classes, fitness programmes, and spa sessions here.

However, if you were looking for maximum relaxation away from all the stresses of work and the city, then their Luxury Villa With Private Pool should be your accommodation of choice. The villa was designed as the perfect romantic hideaway for couples to unwind in. As the name suggests, the villa comes with its own private pool and is surrounded by beautiful lush greenery.

Also, all guests are able to visit the fruit farms around the property at no extra cost. We’d suggest cycling around the property as you sample the varied seasonal fruits including rambutan, longan, durian, etc.

Other attractions within the resort also include a mini zoo and a deer farm.

Simply put, you don’t have to step out of the resort after you’ve checked in — there’s more than ample entertainment provided here.

3. Lexis Suites Penang

Here’s another Lexis resort that has made our list — Lexis Suites Penang is located in, well, the island of Penang. Lexis Suites Penang is a mere 10-minute drive from the Penang International Airport. And the beachfront resort is found along a stretch of pristine beaches in Teluk Kumbar.

What differentiates this resort from other resorts of similar ilk is that the resort doesn’t involve any villas or chalets whatsoever. Instead, you’ll only find a 26-floor tower sitting curiously by the beach.

In this tower, all 222 rooms come with a private pool on the balcony area. Soak in the lush landscapes of Penang as you remain peacefully afloat in the calming waters of your personal pool.

Once you’re done enjoying the view from your private plunge pool, get out and hop in your room’s sauna to warm up. Yes, you read that right — the Executive Pool Suite has an in-room sauna at your disposal!

4. Villa Samadhi Kuala Lumpur

Not looking to stray too far from the city? You’d be surprised to know that there is a tranquil retreat perched right in the heart of Malaysia’s busiest city, Kuala Lumpur.

Villa Samadhi fits the bill as the ultimate relaxing getaway — with serenity and quiet ambience to spare. You’ll find it hard to believe you’re in the middle of a busy city when you check in here.

We’d suggest booking Villa Samadhi’s Luxe rooms as these rooms come with a garden equipped with a plunge pool. Enjoy your peace and quiet as you take in the night view of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline from the comfort of your own pool. Bliss, indeed.

And if you’re looking for activities to do, Villa Samadhi is a short drive from the hub of activity in KL — Bukit Bintang. Take the time to shop till your heart drops, and once you’re done, head back to your personal sanctuary (for the night) to unwind and rest.

5. Bunga Raya Island Resort

As far as island paradises go, one does not exclude the ever-popular Gaya Island from their list.

If you are willing to venture out into the great open seas, then this place is exactly where you need to be. The island of Gaya, located off the coast of Sabah is home to the Bunga Raya Island Resort — a rather secret and luxurious affair.

This hidden gem is found perched on the lush hillsides of Polish Bay on the island. Be prepared to be blown away as you approach this quaint and secluded haven — with vibrant rainforest and sandy white beaches welcoming you to the island.

The resort has a few options to pick from but the best by far is the luxurious Plunge Pool Villa. And its namesake suggests, the villa features a simplistic sea-facing chalet crafted from timber in traditional Bornean architecture. Along with that, there is a large open deck balcony affixed with a private plunge pool for you to enjoy the mesmerizing scenery.

As for activities, do expect the usual island activities to be had. Water activities like snorkelling, diving, or paddleboarding are to be expected. And while you have your own pool to partake in, we would suggest making the most of your time here in the ocean. The breathtaking azure waters surrounding the island are too beautiful to miss out on.
